Friendships are deeply meaningful to children which makes learning to effectively manage friendships one of the most important skill sets for a child to master. Although these lessons aren't necessarily taught in school, they can help ease the challenges that kids face while interacting with others. Addressing topics such as making and maintaining friends and coping with difficult situations, this workshop will empower boys and girls, making them feel confident enough to start new friendships, and strengthen the ones they already have. Kids will be encouraged to share their own experiences.

Topics include:

  • How to make new friends
  • Maintaining friends
  • Defining a true friend
  • Empathy and thoughtfulness
  • Handling difficult situations
  • Identifying bullying and coping with it
  • Learning when it's time to move on from friendships politely
  • How to speak up and express feelings
  • Being friends with boys and girls
