socialsklz:-) tools to thrive in the modern world has joined forces with The Four Seasons Restaurant to offer Contemporary Dining Skills and Beyond, a unique dining skills program for children, tweens and teens. The package includes a preliminaryworkshop at the socialsklz:-) classroom, where dining essentials are learned. Following the workshop is a celebratory dining experience at the Four Seasons Restaurant where student’s new skills are finely tuned and put to use.
During the preliminary hour and a half workshop at socialsklz:-) students will learn the principals of proper etiquette. Instruction will feature setting the table, proper use of utensils, glassware and dishes, behavior and attire at the table, mealtime conversation, making a toast as well as how to be the perfect host and guest. At the Four Seasons, children and teens will have a refresher and then put their skills to use during a three-course dinner from 5:30-7:30pm. Parents may join for $135.00 per person (prix fixe menu, alcohol not included). Children who previously took a socialsklz:-) workshop series (and have their dining skills certification within the past 3 months) may join the Four Seasons dinner for $135.00.
Located at 99 East 52nd Street (between Park and Lexington) the Four Seasons is a New York City landmark, founded in 1959 and owned by Alex von Bidder and Julian Niccolini. Von Bidder is the co-author of Wiggens Learns His Manners at the Four Seasons with Leslie McGuirk. “Manners are about respect, consideration and care,” he says. “We’re really teaching confidence and grace – qualities that will prepare children for any social situation.”
