socialsklz:-)
tools to thrive in the modern world
In today's fast paced world, opportunities for interaction are constantly evolving. The internet, social media, cell phones, texting and video games have eclipsed the art of person to person interaction, yet basic social skills and respect for others are essential. socialsklz:-) tools to thrive in the modern world was founded by Faye Rogaski to equip our children, tweens and teens with these tools to succeed in life and do more rather than less.
During socialsklz:-) classes students participate in interactive, age appropriate workshops with their peers where they learn modern day social and communication skills. Studies show that “children are more receptive to etiquette instruction when it comes from a non-parental figure” (International School of Protocol). The valuable lessons taught can lead to personal and academic growth as well as better relationships with others. Ultimately, these social skills are empowering for kids and help build confidence and self esteem, enabling them to lead easier and more fruitful lives.
socialsklz:-) workshops have been brought to over 500 students with organizations including the YMCA, Girl Scouts of America, The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Program as well as NYC public and private school students.
